Principal
We want you to be happy and confident when leaving your child at school. These are your children and it is our privilege to be part of their learning.

It is important for you to know about what they are learning. It is important to us that your child is happy, learning, developing their talents and overcoming challenges at school.

At Freyberg we aim to promote an active partnership with the community in providing educational, cultural, recreational and social learning opportunities.
We ensure the day school remains the hub around which the community school continues to develop and we provide a friendly, positive, supportive, caring environment, which encourages the involvement of caregivers.

Our school recognises and respects the rights of both children and adults and encourages and guides children in taking responsibility for their own actions.

Freyberg enhances learning outcomes by providing a broad curriculum with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy in the first 4 years of school. We are focused on what is yet to come and so preparing our students for the future they will live in and not the past is important to us. This means developing creative, critical and caring thinkers and there are a number of initiatives and teaching approaches that we use to help develop our students in these areas. Please feel free to pop in and discuss these if you would like to.

And most importantly –

It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice!

We consider character development to be as important as academic, cultural and sporting development. Values are focused and celebrated. And at Freyberg, all of us are better than any one of us!

Please feel free to email me at any time if you have any concerns or matters you wish to discuss.
